
Privacy Awareness Week (PAW) is a national annual event to promote and raise awareness of the importance of protecting personal information.
This year, it runs from Monday 4 May to Sunday 10 May with the theme:
Trust is built here. In every privacy complaint. In every resolution
which places clear focus on strengthening privacy dispute resolution practices and building public confidence in how information is handled.
The theme of PAW is particularly relevant in a small jurisdiction like the Territory to ensure that individuals and organisations have confidence in the way their information is handled.
It is led by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in partnership with state and territory privacy regulators and Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities members. This reflects a coordinated effort to build and promote privacy capability and awareness across Australia.
Signing up as a Privacy Awareness Week supporter is a way of showing your organisation’s commitment to good privacy practices, and the importance of protecting personal information.
